Smart Scales & Recipe Apps "Ding" on National TV


Perfect Company, the leading developer of connected kitchen products, hired LKPR with the goal of generating consumer awareness, driving website traffic and supporting sell-through for its line of smart scales & recipe apps: Perfect Drink, Perfect Bake, Perfect Blend & Perfect Kitchen.

Preparing food & drinks using this patented technology required both media and consumer education. Live product demos were powerful—it was magical to see the app’s ingredient blocks fill in real time as you pour and gratifying to hear that “ding” indicating to stop.


To win over the media, LKPR strategically secured desk-side briefings and participated in events. This also allowed media to taste recipes made with the Perfect system. Hands-on reviews producing user-generated-content and publicity incorporating video were key to influencing consumer purchase. TV was the perfect medium.

National TV delivered significant reach and added endorsement from notable TV hosts who fell in love with Perfect’s “ding.” In one holiday season, LKPR secured placement on seven shows, including Steve Harvey, Rachael Ray, The Talk and more, generating 55x web traffic, significant app downloads and incremental sales. Content was amplified on social media driving direct to retail.
