ACCOUNT COORDINATOR, PUBLIC RELATIONS

LKPR is a vibrant, marketing communications agency based in New York City that offers media relations, social media services, brand marketing, and creative services.

This entry-level role offers the unique opportunity to gain significant education and hands-on experience across a wide variety of marketing disciplines and consumer/lifestyle sectors, including pop culture/geek brands, toys and games, consumer health, education services, media and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with account executive and supervisor to support the team in meeting client goals

  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and share progress updates

  • Build and update media lists to identify appropriate targets

  • Monitor client news and social mentions

  • Conduct research to support media outreach, client goals and new business efforts

  • Coordinate press samples and track product inventory

  • Participate in and actively contribute to agency creative brainstorms and client meetings-your ideas are important & will be heard!

  • Draft compelling pitches that inspire placements, from print and broadcast, to blogs and podcasts

  • Assist with on-site staffing at trade shows and press events

  • Administrative / general office duties
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

  • One year of related internship experience or 1-2 years professional experience—preferably in a New York City agency environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, no matter how big or small the task

  • Impressive verbal/written communication, maintaining a professional attitude at all times

  • Self-starter and team player

  • Be flexible, creative, and resourceful—if there's a way, you'll find it!
     

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in PR tools like Cision and TV Eyes

  • Familiarity with basic tools like Google Drive, DropBox and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms
